Oh Look, An Introduction

My name is Jack.  I'm a junior and recent transfer to the UT Journalism school who's going back to the basics this semester in order to pick up a couple credits that couldn't transfer.

I originally come from the Chicago area, but, being from a military family, I've spent some time living in various places around the eastern half of the U.S. as well as a couple summers in southern Germany before winding up in Austin.  In my spare time I'm a short story writer, reader, armchair philosopher, underfunded travel enthusiast, and semi-professional that-guy-who-knows-all-kinds-of-mildy-interesting-stuff at every party you've ever been to in your life, which is probably why I don't get invited to many parties anymore.  In my not so spare time I do web development and editing, so this course is right at home for me.

If you're interested as to why I'm studying journalism and you're actually still reading this, I suppose I'll give you a quick summary.  I consider myself a facilitator and a communicator who's interested in everyone and everything, which is also why you probably shouldn't ever get into a deep conversation with me unless you really like telling your life story.  Growing up in different places with different people has taught me how to blend into any crowd and I came to learn that lots of different people have lots of interesting stories to tell.

I would post a some photos I've taken, but sadly my old laptop just died on me and took all the digital copies of my pictures with it.  If you need an idea what I look like, its approximately something like this.

To conclude, here's a picture of cake from Wikipedia because everyone likes cake; if you don't like cake, I don't like you.

Just kidding, we're cool regardless.
